Legalintro was founded in 2017 by lawyers with extensive legal experience and a passion for technology. The journey began as an online marketplace when Legalintro was selected by the jury of In5 tech (the leading startup incubator for technology companies in the UAE), to become an In5 member. Given our experience, we began receiving regular invitations to present to startups and entrepreneurs at various startup hubs and universities across the UAE, giving us a unique perspective into the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
Being in close proximity to 200+ other In5 members led us to two key realizations. The first realization was that one of the biggest challenges faced by startups is access to legal experts that “speak” both legal and tech. The second realization was that conventional corporate law firms do not offer a pricing and operational model that is compatible with the legal needs of startups. These realizations gave birth to our legal consultancy in 2019.
We are committed to supporting the startup world by addressing the specific needs of startups and providing them with innovative and accessible high quality legal services, tailored to their operations and growth stage. Finally, when advising our clients, we bear in mind the wise words of Keith Benjamin, Global Legal Director of Jaguar Land Rover:
“You meet a firm and they pitch, but they don’t offer a system or a process. Law firms tell you what they do, but not how they do it. For me, there are three Rs which are Reliability, Recommendations and Risk. I give repeat business to firms which offer me proven reliability, in the sense of getting to the right outcome, within budget and on time. But also, the advice itself has to be business advice, which means I like recommendations and some assessment of risk.”
